I remember the first time this movie aired on tv on one of those Sunday night or Monday night true story movies channels, I was horrified that a mother in law could be so evil. I remember feeling so sorry for this young girl. It has been really hard uncovering the real story behind this movie. I remember when I finally made the connection between the true story and the movie version back in the nineties, I was even more shocked at how close this story really is to the true story. There were some name changes and location changes. But, the true spirit of the movie and many of the chronological events that take place in the movie are very real. Not every detail of the true story was included in the movie. I have been able to pick up a lot of anecdotal information from others who know the real people. I have been desperately looking for a photo of Alexandra Ignatovic Pesic.

Just a tidbit: her hair, I believe at the time that she met the family was dyed blonde, in the movie and of course in the real video footage, her hair is brunette. I knew Lawrence Delorme. He grew up in my neighborhood. Everyone liked his little brother Chris but not him. As a matter of fact he did a B&E on my apartment and stole my room mates stereo after I had let him into my house party for a few drinks with his friends. I never liked him, he kind of resembled charles manson but with long hair and bright blue eyes. I had noticed him at my party slyly checking out the sliding glass door and in a few days when my room mates expensive stereo went missing due to a break in, I made Chris help me hunt his brother down. When Lawrence saw me coming to confront him he tried to run the other way! (Im a girl!)
ReplyDeleteI caught up to him with my entourage and demanded the stereo back. He took me to his place and handed it over. Thats how he was, an opportunistic chickensh1t. I was disgusted but not surprised when I found out he had a part in this poor lady's murder, he was just that much of a scumbag creep. Im sorry to hear he's out of jail. I bet he's gone right back to the low income housing project by cottonwood ave that he used to live at. bleah.
